To say I like Thursdays would be an understatement...I would vote it as the #1 day of the week over and over again...unless I didn't work of course.
It all began in college when Thursdays were my “Fridays” or at least close enough to Friday with maybe one morning class the next day. It was a night to relax and ready myself for the weekend. It was also the night I would drive to my hometown of Tawas City, MI when I was lucky enough to get away from school. Now that my college days are over (for now), my thankfulness for Thursday's has carried on.
I am not sure there are many people who feel such love for this day of the week, so let me make my case.
{Thursday Defense}
1. The Weekend is Near, but Not Too Close
It should be considered the last "real" day (aka workday) of the week. The next day is likely "Jean Day," which is a win in itself. If it's not your turn to wear jeans to work, well then I support your voice for change...everyone deserves a casual day. The weekend isn't here yet, but it is so close you can taste it. It is similar to the day before vacation where your excitement is filled to the brim, but then the first day of vacation arrives and the count down to reality starts ticking...much like the first day of the weekend.
2. Thursday Night Television Shows Are The Bomb Diggity
Some of TV's favorites and one of my old favorites has made Thursday night prime time and include:
Scandal
How to Get Away with Murder
Grey's Anatomy
The Vampire Diaries
Heroes: Reborn
and for the longest time...
Parenthood...may you "RIN" (Rest in Netflix)
Truthfully... I do not religiously watch each of these shows. However, last year my favorite TV cocktail consisted of Scandal with Parenthood as my chaser. This meant Thursday night television was the greatest TV night of the week for this girl.
3. "Thrifty Thursday"...need I say more?
4. HEALTH + CLEANLINESS = CLARITY
In the St. Aubin household, it is cleaning day and if you know me well...I LOVE a clean house. It is true...during the school year I try my very, VERY best to clean the house on Thursdays. It gives Evan and I the weekend to enjoy without him waking up to a grumpy, sassy, persnickety wifey on Saturday morning. On top of that it has become a night set aside for working out. This deserves two wins in my book. The house is clean and I'm feeling lean what more could I ask for. My mind is clear.
5. #ThrowbackThursdays
The perfect time to pull out that awkward picture that was taken of your younger brother and/or sister...or in my case the video of him dancing and lip-syncing to "Shoes."
